Helping you beat the overwhelm and feel in control again!
"Have you ever been told, it's just what happens, you have to put up with it I'm afraid"
For the longest time. women have been fobbed off and expected to get on with the hormonal roller coaster that comes at the opposite end of puberty. More shockingly we are not told what to expect or given any allowances for the havoc that diminishing hormones can cause.
Many of us don't know enough about these changes and what we do know is changing constantly as the medical profession strives to keep up. The good news is that most GP's are respectful, understanding and much more interested in the changes that women's bodies experience. If yours isn't there yet, get a new GP, because you are going to need to look at all your options for navigating the 'change' especially if you can't take conventional medicine.
Having experienced the start of symptoms at a relatively young age I didn't think for a minute I was old enough to be going on this journey yet but in reality our reproductive hormones begin to diminish as early as our mid to late 30's so it is more than possible, as we are all different, that you can be having menopausal symptoms in what are still considered our childbearing years. Perimenopause symptoms can present in similar ways to menopause and we tell ourselves we are too young or just getting older! There is no need to put up with them! Go chat with your GP or practice nurse to ask if this could be the start of a hormonal change and they can help and advise you.
